First Foster City US Open Rated Chess Tournament 👻

On November 2, BHCS proudly partnered with King's Land Chess to host the first-ever Foster City US Open Rated Chess Tournament — a milestone event for our community!

The tournament attracted many talented local and young players from across the Peninsula, all eager to put their skills to the test in a day full of strategy, focus, and fun. After three to four exciting rounds of competition, players earned their official rankings, medals, and trophies, along with plenty of new friendships and wonderful memories.

Between rounds, the kids took time to relax with snacks in the breakroom, read books together, and make new friends — creating a warm and supportive atmosphere that made the day even more special.

It was inspiring to see so much passion, concentration, and sportsmanship from every participant — from our youngest beginners to seasoned players.

We're thrilled to bring this level of mental challenge and community engagement to Foster City and hope to keep the momentum going with more chess events and opportunities ahead! Congratulations to all our players and winners — and thank you to everyone who made this event possible!
